A 23-year-old mother of two from Wyoming is suspected of being poisoned with antifreeze after a stranger offered her a free drink on New Year's Eve, according to reports.
Kylie Klein was celebrating with friends at Silver Dollar Bar & Grill in Cody when a stranger handed her a drink just before closing time at 1:30 a.m. According to KTBX.
The young mother was soon picked up from a bar by her fiancé, Sean, but she did not return home 10 minutes later, foaming at the mouth and having a seizure, the newspaper reported.
Sean called 911 and Klein was taken 160 miles north to St. Vincent Regional Hospital in Billings, Montana, where he remained sedated and on a ventilator for several days, according to KTBX.
Doctors at the hospital believe Klein ingested antifreeze, a liquid coolant used in car engines. Report from KTVQ.
Antifreeze is said to have a sweet taste because it contains ethyl glycol, and it is difficult to notice when mixed with other drinks. Poison Control Warning.
However, because blood was collected too late after the incident, the definitive cause could not be determined. Cowboy State Daily reported..

The miracle mother spent six days in the hospital and on Monday “decided to walk out the hospital doors on her own,” her family told KBTX.
Klein's mother told Cowboy State Daily that her daughter remembers the person handing her the free drink.
Cody police are conducting interviews and investigating the incident “fairly quickly,” the newspaper said.
