Exclusive: The Republican Party appears to be attracting more young Americans than in previous elections, with a double-digit shift of young voters toward the top of the party in the 2024 election cycle.
One of the Republicans leading that new wave is Rep. Brandon Gill of Texas, who at 30 years old will become the youngest member of the House Republican Conference and the youngest member of the entire 119th Congress.
“I think it's a couple of things. One is that young voters want honesty more than anything. They want someone who understands what they're going through. '' Gill told FOX News Digital.
“And the reality is that young voters don't like things like censorship. They don't like government officials telling them what they can and can't say. Young voters don't like things like censorship. It's really hard to buy a house, get a well-paying job, put food on the table, buy groceries in Joe Biden's economy. It's really difficult to buy. ”

The Trump-Vance campaign has made multiple outreach efforts to young voters, especially those who Republicans believe have been largely left behind and dissatisfied with Democratic leadership's push toward progressivism.
President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance have given interviews on a series of podcasts that generally appeal to young people, including “The Joe Rogan Experience” and one-on-one with cartoonist Theo Bonn.
This strategy appears to have worked. Fox News' analysis of voters in the 2024 election found an 11-point shift toward Trump among voters under 30 compared to 2020.
Vice President Kamala Harris also underperformed significantly in her age group, winning 51% of voters, compared to 61% when President Biden defeated President Trump.
Gill spoke to Fox News Digital on Friday afternoon, shortly after being elected chairman of the House Republican freshman class. This is a largely ceremonial role for new members aspiring to leadership.

“We have to take our country back,” Gill said. “And I jumped into this race because we need real conservative, hard-core warriors who are going to stand up to the swamp and the establishment and actually get real conservative reform here.”
The Texas Republican was elected to represent a reddish district held by outgoing House Rules Committee Chairman Michael Burgess (R-Texas), who is 40 years older than Gill.
Asked how Republicans can maintain their 2024 momentum in future elections, Gill said it's important to follow through on promises.

“I think the Republican Party, especially President Trump, has a very clear mandate, right? … We have a majority in the House. We have a majority in the Senate. President Trump just won the election. “In college, he won every battleground state and won the popular vote,” Gill said.

“And if Republicans, if we come in and do our job, if we do what we say we're going to do, two years from now, four years from now… in future cycles, people will be able to vote at the polls. He will reward you.”
In addition to his own fundraising during the 2024 campaign, Gill has donated more than $170,000 to other House Republican candidates and incumbents, according to his campaign.
