Youth pastor reportedly sent inappropriate messages to teenagers while speaking with his wife.

Court Documents Reveal Disturbing Allegations Against Pastor

Jacob Ryan Burnett has been accused of posing as a teenage boy to exchange his wife for nude photos of a young girl.

In court filings, it was stated that Burnett, 34, told a church pastor, Jake from Catawba Valley Baptist Church in Virginia, “It’s time to see her first D-K,” while communicating with a 15-year-old girl.

The girl responded, stating, “I’m ready! I’m alone, but I only know a little about this whole topic.”

Burnett, who is a father to a two-year-old son, allegedly messaged the girl on social media, pretending to be a 17-year-old named “Jodie Johnson.”

According to the complaint, a mother of another 15-year-old girl alerted the FBI in May after seeing explicit messages between her daughter and “Johnson.”

Upon researching the number, she discovered it belonged to Burnett.

At least twice, Burnett managed to speak with the girl while he was on the phone with his wife. On May 19, he messaged the girl at 4:30 PM and received a call from his wife just two minutes later. The girl then sent several pictures to him shortly after.

The affidavit notes that within five minutes, Burnett texted the mother of the girl while still on the call with his wife.

The following day, he messaged the girl again at 10:34 AM and answered another call from his wife just a minute later, while the teenager sent him more messages.

In July, Burnett reportedly told another 15-year-old victim via Snapchat that it was “time to see the first D-K.” Despite her objections, he sent her a nude photo of himself, which she then reciprocated with multiple images, although they were not recoverable due to encryption or deletion. Authorities concluded they were likely nude based on the conversation’s context.

Burnett was arrested in North Carolina on Wednesday and is facing serious charges related to attempts to exploit minors. If found guilty, he could be sentenced to life in prison.
