Two iconic institutions in the Big Apple are teaming up to celebrate 210 years in business by providing cookies and bagels for everyone.
To celebrate its 90th anniversary this year, Zabar's will hand out its legendary white and black cookies to commuters in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens on Oct. 22, officials said. Meanwhile, the MTA will celebrate its 120th anniversary on October 27th.
The gourmet department store on Broadway on the Upper West Side has been associated with the MTA for nearly a century. Stanley Zabar, the 92-year-old son of founder Louis Zabar, said his father intentionally placed his store within walking distance of Broadway. underground.
