Zach Bryan’s New Song “Bad News” Sparks Discussions
Country artist Zach Bryan has given fans a glimpse of his upcoming track titled “Bad News,” which has quickly gained traction online. The song reflects a somber view of America during Donald Trump’s presidency.
In an Instagram post accompanied by the caption “The Decline of Red, White and Blue,” Bryan shared a snippet of the song. The lyrics express, “All my friends are degenerate, but everything I get is a story of a generation that drops the plot. I heard the police have come. And then, ‘And the ice is going to be arrested at your door, I’m going to build a house, no one will build it anymore, but I got the phone, all the kids are scared and alone.'”
The lyrics go on, stating, “The bars halt and stop, the rock rolling and stopping, the middle finger rising and not stopping to show. There was some bad news: red, white and blue fades.”
John Rich, another country musician, weighed in on the situation with a tweet, saying, “Nashville is full of people like this.”
Some commentators on X suggested that Bryan’s situation could parallel the “Budlight moment,” referring to the backlash Budweiser faced after an endorsement deal with a transgender influencer sparked outrage among conservative consumers.
Adding to the narrative, Zach Bryan was recently stopped for speeding in Oklahoma. Body cam footage reveals him telling officers he is a “famous musician.” Known for his liberal viewpoints, Bryan has had past confrontations with law enforcement, at one point calling an officer “out of control” and criticizing the police’s harmful practices.
During the Budlight controversy, Bryan made headlines for his comments supporting the transgender community, stating it was “completely wrong to insult trans people.” He seemed to emphasize the importance of living authentically and appreciating the present moment.
