Zuckerberg said in an interview Thursday that people want to see less political content in their feeds.

He says people are using his services to connect with them.

That’s the direction social media sites are heading, he argues.

Zuckerberg has said that, at least for now, he is reducing his involvement in the election, including making endorsements.

“In my opinion, watching Donald Trump stand up after getting shot in the face and raise the American flag and pump his fist in the air was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen in my life,” Zuckerberg said. “And as an American, I think it’s hard not to empathize with that spirit and that fighting spirit in some way, and I think that’s why so many people like him.”

He says he wants a space where people can share their views without hindering human connection.
