A car fire and plumes of black smoke were seen Friday near the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C.

“The apparent cause was a vehicle fire on the George Washington Parkway in Virginia, which has been extinguished,” DC Fire and EMS wrote to X.

Agency staff are on their way to the scene. Arlington Fire and EMS said the fire involved a “pickup truck and trailer.”

There were no immediate reports of injuries.
