1 Migrant at Border for Every 2 U.S. Births

President Joe Biden’s executive order will allow one immigrant to cross the US-Mexico border for every two American births. Still, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the order is “tough” and will “deter” illegal immigration.

On Tuesday, Breitbart News reported that President Biden had issued an executive order mimicking the Senate’s failed immigration deal that would allow thousands of migrants to cross the southern border between ports of entry and apply for asylum until a threshold of about 17,500 migrants per week is reached.

From there, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas could limit asylum applications to only those migrants who arrive at ports of entry.

Importantly, this executive order will continue President Biden’s massive parole pipeline, in which tens of thousands of migrants arrive at ports of entry each week, obtain parole, obtain work permits and are released into the U.S. interior.

Between the standards laid out in the executive order — which allows for 900,000 encounters with migrants per year before the Department of Homeland Security steps in to limit asylum applications between ports of entry — and the parole pipeline, which imported more than 800,000 migrants in one year, the Biden administration aims to add one immigrant to the U.S. population for every two American births.

In other words, the Biden administration is planning to allow nearly 2 million immigrants into the United States, even though 3.6 million are born in the country each year.

For reference, throughout the 1990s, levels of illegal immigration were historically high and thought to be nearly out of control, with between 1 and 1.5 million immigrants apprehended per year.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kansas) said the annual number is likely even higher because it does not include the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrant “fugitives,” or unaccompanied alien children, who evade border checks.

“This executive order is full of loopholes and exceptions,” Marshall said.

It would not stop up to 30,000 migrants from flying directly into the U.S. each month and being released under President Biden’s mass parole program. The measure does not address the millions of unvetted “fugitives” who enter our country, and the asylum “ban” is packed with exceptions, including for unaccompanied minors. This falls into the cartel’s hands and they are used in child trafficking operations at the border. Under Biden, more than 100,000 UACs will arrive each year, but the annual number of fugitives is Averaging With these figures included, the Biden administration would allow about 2.5 million migrants to arrive at the border, just 1 million short of the annual U.S. birth rate.

Mayorkas praised the order as one of many “tough steps” taken by Biden.

“This executive action is yet another step the Administration has taken within its existing authority to stem illegal immigration,” Mayorkas said.
