The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced a recall affecting over 1 million vehicles from Toyota, Lexus, and Subaru. This includes models from 2022 through 2026 that are fitted with the Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) system.
A software issue could potentially cause the rearview camera to freeze or go blank while reversing, which raises the crash risk and leads to non-compliance with federal safety standards.
In total, 1,024,407 vehicles are affected by this recall, all considered defective.
