Green is one of the league’s most polarized players as a microwave scorer who tends to do his best job when his team is a tanking or resting starter later in the season. Still, the 23-year-old security guard started all the games for the Houston team, who surprised the league by grabbing the second seed in the Western Conference playoffs. Green averaged 21 points per game with 54.5% true shooting. This is a few points below the league average. The previous second overall pick will continue to be under the microscope in the playoffs and need to prove that they can score efficiently in important games.

Malik Beasley, G., Detroit Pistons

Beasley is one of the best offseason signatures and should be considered a serious candidate to win the NBA’s sixth Man of the Year. His elite shooting ability was a key part of the Pistons’ rise to a playoff team this year, giving star guard Kade Cunningham a sniper to provide efficient scoring with floor space. Beasley became second and third in the NBA at 319 this year, and he hit them at an incredible 41.6% rate. One of the best shooters living, and if Detroit tries to get the first round upset he needs to get hot.

Jarrett Allen, C, Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cavs’ rise to a 64-win juggernaut under new head coach Kenny Atkinson was the best story in the league. Allen is a key part of Cleveland’s “core 4” and mainly shoots 70% off the field with assisted dunks, providing rebound and rim protection. He will work with Evan Mobley to form one of the NBA’s biggest and best frontcoats.

Harrison Burns, F. San Antonio Spurs

Burns played all 82 games in his third season in his first year with the Spurs. The 32-year-old earned the best filming season of his career by knocking down 43.3% of the three-pointer on 360 attempts. Burns’ defense and rebounds feel like they’re in a bit of decline, but he’s still a useful player in the league who wants a 6’8 forward where all teams can stretch the floor.

One of the better defensive forwards in the McDaniels League. His offense was a more mixed bag as he struggled with this year’s external shot (33% to 33%), but remains a key piece for the Timberwolves team, who will travel another trip to the playoffs after last year’s Western Conference Finals run. Minnesota will need McDaniels to step up into the playoffs at a major stage as they prepare to face the Los Angeles Lakers.

Julian Champany, F. San Antonio Spurs
