Houston ICE Arrests Criminal Aliens Amid Ongoing Unrest
HOUSTON, Texas — In response to a recent violent incident involving a Mexican national, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents from the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) branch have been actively removing criminal aliens from Houston. Between July 1 and July 15, approximately 260 individuals were apprehended, many of whom were found to have serious criminal records, including convictions for sex crimes, aggravated assault, burglary, and drug trafficking.
ICE officials reported to local media that 259 criminal aliens were taken into custody in the Houston area during the first two weeks of July. Notably, among those arrested were members of notorious gangs such as MS-13 and others. Collectively, these individuals had illegally entered the U.S. 535 times. The arrests encompassed over 400 documented crimes that threatened public safety.
The range of offenses leading to these arrests included:
- 11 charges related to sexual crimes
- 4 charges of child sexual assault
- 70 aggravated assault or battery convictions
- 77 theft, burglary, and robbery offenses
- 11 drug trafficking cases
- 1 kidnapping
- 3 incidents of sex trafficking
- 10 hit and run charges
- 20 weapons-related offenses
- 56 for resisting arrest or obstructing law enforcement
- 5 for making terrorist threats
- 130 DWI convictions, including several repeat offenders
- 10 for trespassing
- 11 for alien smuggling
- 13 domestic violence charges
- 19 counts of forgery and fraud
- 41 possession of controlled substances
Details of some particularly troubling cases included:
- Cesar Alain Villalobos Villagomez, a 37-year-old fugitive wanted in Mexico for aggravated kidnapping.
- Neri Farid Calix Ardon, 31, previously deported from Honduras, convicted of child sexual assault.
- Kevin Salvador Madrid Ochoa, a 27-year-old from Honduras, charged with online solicitation of a minor.
- Dennis Roberto Hernandez Castaneda, a repeat offender involved in various violent and substance-related crimes.
- Raymundo Toledo Flores, a Mexican national with numerous theft and DWI convictions, who has illegally entered the U.S. nine times.
- Kiet Anh Nguyen, a 53-year-old Vietnamese immigrant with multiple burglary and theft charges along with driving offenses.
- Miguel Galicia, a deported Guatemalan, convicted of lewd acts with minors and various violent crimes.
Even with the scrutiny following recent events, the operations reflect ICE’s commitment to removing violent offenders from communities. By apprehending numerous gang members and high-risk criminals within a short time frame, federal officials highlight the importance of targeted enforcement for maintaining public safety in the Houston area.
