$460m crypto scam promoted on Kylian Mbappe’s X account

Hackers took over soccer star Kylian Mbappe's X account on Wednesday and launched a cryptocurrency scam among the player's 14 million followers.

Interestingly, this scam is similar to other celebrity schemes in recent years. In simple terms, a celebrity creates a coin, buys a large portion of it, and promotes it to their followers as their latest project. Once the market cap is inflated, the creator can sell their shares for a profit. This may not rise to the level of criminality unless the creator encourages their followers to buy.
