6 People Found Fatally Shot In Remote Southern California Desert Area

Six people were found shot to death and scattered in a remote desert area of ​​El Mirage, California.

An investigation was launched immediately after authorities discovered six bodies in the El Mirage desert on Wednesday.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said the body was found around 8:15 p.m. local time Tuesday after officers responded to a welfare check along Highway 395 between Lake Los Angeles and Adelanto. said to have been discovered.

“Investigators from the Specialized Investigations Division responded to the scene and are conducting an investigation,” Rodriguez reported.

Initially, it was announced that there were five victims, but a subsequent investigation revealed a sixth victim.

The bodies of numerous bloody victims were seen strewn on the ground, surrounded by shell casings and dozens of evidence markers.

Some of the bodies appeared to have been burned.

Two cars were visible on the ground, hidden in the undergrowth behind crime scene tape that detectives had placed to delineate the area. One vehicle was a “dark-colored SUV” with windows blown out and numerous bullet holes, according to investigators.

The other car was a van going the wrong way. It is unknown if that particular vehicle suffered any damage and has not been reported.

Shortly afterward, a Sheriff's Office helicopter arrived on the scene, briefly landed, and circled over the area.
