Charges Against Florida Man for Attempting to Kill Teen Witness
A Florida man, previously accused of coercing a teenager into a “sex slave” contract, now faces further charges. These new allegations claim that he attempted to hire a hitman to eliminate her before she could testify against him.
The teenager contacted law enforcement, detailing that he had sexually assaulted her on August 17, 2021. Just ten days after this report, authorities arrested Andrew Mustapic, charging him with illegal sexual activity with a minor.
The victim, 17 at the time, reportedly felt forced to sign a “sexual slave” agreement in exchange for gifts, one being a vehicle. She later informed detectives that Mustapic stated in the contract he would provide these sexual “benefits” on specific days over five years.
It came to light that Mustapic had purchased a car for a friend of the victim, which allowed her to drive to his residence. When the girl allegedly failed to comply with the agreement, he took the car back.
The victim had recorded her last encounter with Mustapic and presented this evidence to investigators. In late March 2025, Mustapic accepted a plea related to engaging in sexual activity with a minor, a second-degree felony.
However, before finalizing the plea, authorities received a tip about Mustapic’s efforts to contract a hitman. This information indicated he intended to eliminate the teen to avoid her testimony.
“We were informed of this in March. We appreciate the individuals who came forward,” remarked Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers.
Mustapic allegedly met with an undercover officer posing as a hitman on May 1, 2025. He proposed paying $40,000 to persuade the teen to refrain from testifying, and an additional $50,000 if she decided to proceed.
Flowers noted that Mustapic’s strategy was to withdraw his plea agreement; without the victim’s testimony, he would face no charges.
Authorities stated that Mustapic was also seen on surveillance video attempting to dispose of electronics, including laptops and hard drives, in the St. Sebastian River. Evidence was later recovered by the St. Lucie County Dive Team.
Mustapic is accused of trying to intimidate or threaten the victim to prevent her participation in the criminal proceedings. He is currently held at the Indian River County Jail on a bond set at $7 million.
“This man is truly an animal,” Sheriff Flowers commented during a press briefing. “He would go to extreme lengths to evade justice.”
Mustapic’s next court appearance is scheduled for June 6th.
