Berkeley Professor Allegedly Targeted for Murder

A business professor from Berkeley, who is notably regarded at the University of California, was arrested following an alleged plot to have him killed while in Greece. This information was shared by the victim’s family with ABC News.

Przemyslaw Jeziorski, aged 43, had traveled to Athens for a custody hearing regarding his two young children earlier in July when he was shot multiple times in the chest and neck outside a residence on July 4th.

Greek authorities have stated that the individual who fled from the scene is reportedly the current partner of Jeziorski’s ex-wife.

Additionally, three other men are said to have been arrested in connection with this case.

Jeziorski had been a faculty member at the Haas School of Business in Berkeley for eight years, where he was well respected.

“Our family is heartbroken; we’re doing everything possible to pursue justice,” his brother, Lucas Zeziorsky, expressed on a European crowdfunding platform.

“Przemek was not only a loving father but also a cherished professor at the Haas School of Business. He was recognized as a leading expert in areas like marketing science and data analysis,” he added.

In response to the tragedy, Jennifer Chatman from Berkeley Haas released a statement honoring Jeziorski as a “beloved” member of their academic community.

Chatman described their community’s sorrow upon hearing the devastating news about Jeziorski’s death.

Professor Zusalt Katna, a close colleague, emphasized Jeziorski’s distinguished academic contributions while expressing hope that justice would prevail in the ongoing investigation.

The primary focus, he noted, is to support the families impacted by this tragedy, particularly in ensuring the well-being of the children involved.

Before joining the Haas faculty as an assistant professor in marketing in 2012, Jeziorski received his education from several prestigious institutions, including SGH Warsaw Economics and the University of Chicago. He also had teaching roles at Johns Hopkins University and experience as a research intern at Microsoft.

His research interests encompassed quantitative marketing, antitrust regulations, and digital marketing, with his works published in respected journals like Marketing Science and the Rand Journal of Economics.
