Climate Activist Reportedly Hijacks Plane After Claiming Global Warming Will Transform Earth Into Venus

Plane Hijacking Incident in Canada

Local sources and police reports indicate that a man accused of hijacking a plane in Canada had posted on Facebook proclaiming himself “a messiah sent to save humanity from climate change.”

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) have charged 39-year-old Shaheer Cassim with hijacking, stating he was motivated by ideological beliefs. Cassim reportedly shared this viewpoint on social media, mentioning that he received a “message from Allah” through “Angel Gabriel,” warning of imminent climate threats related to Arctic ice melting and a potential transformation of Earth into a Venus-like state.

Sergeant Tammy Robb, spokesperson for the federal police, confirmed that investigators believe Cassim acted with the intent to disrupt air traffic. Fortunately, there were no injuries during the incident.

The RCMP and Vancouver International Airport (YVR) have not commented on inquiries from the Daily Caller News Foundation and were unable to reach Cassim.

On July 15, Cassim allegedly took control of a small Cessna 172 plane from the Vancouver Island area and was arrested after landing at YVR. The situation warranted the deployment of an F-15 fighter jet for safety measures, as reported by Canadian media.

Notably, Cassim’s Facebook profile suggests he was licensed as a commercial pilot for KD Air, which operated from 2008 to 2010. His alarming climate messages appeared on Facebook just prior to the hijacking.

In his posts, Cassim wrote, “The ice in the Arctic Ocean will disappear within two years… leading to a sudden, runaway global warming.” He stressed the urgent need for geoengineering to stabilize the Arctic ice and avert human extinction.

Additionally, on his blog, he alleged that the government was blocking efforts to prevent a catastrophic release of methane from the Arctic. In another post, he criticized former President Trump, accusing him of lying about global warming.

Cassim also expressed a desire for global religious harmony, emphasizing peace among different groups within Islam—often referencing discussions about historical figures like Osama bin Laden.

Diana and Lars Bank, who formerly owned KD Air, expressed their shock at Cassim’s actions, recalling him as an exemplary pilot.
