ICE Arrests Convicted Criminals Among Illegal Aliens

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents recently apprehended several individuals described as highly dangerous, including an illegal immigrant convicted of serious crimes, such as child murder and sexual abuse.

The latest arrest involved Edgar Ismael Gomez Lara, an undocumented Mexican national taken into custody in Houston, Texas. Prosecutors allege that Gomez Lara committed a brutal stabbing that left a 24-year-old victim in grave danger.

Tricia McLaughlin from the Department of Homeland Security commented on the situation, stating, “These crimes committed by illegal aliens are the result of open border policies: brutal stabbings, sexual offenses, and murder.”

She further criticized the previous administration for its handling of illegal immigration and called out the current administration’s policies. “Under the Biden administration, criminal illegal aliens have faced minimal repercussions. However, President Trump and Secretary Noem are taking steps to restore order and protect our communities.”

ICE also detained Joel Reyes, an illegal alien from El Salvador, in Los Angeles. He had been convicted of first-degree rape in New York. Additionally, Audi Nolasco Vasquez, another illegal alien from El Salvador, was arrested in St. Paul, Minnesota for a privacy violation related to sexual exploitation.

In a related case, ICE agents arrested Christian Ortiz Quintero, a Colombian national, in Washington, D.C. He faces nine counts of possession of child pornography stemming from incidents in Virginia. Another apprehension occurred in Atlanta, Georgia, where Enrique Vasquez Vera, a Mexican national, was taken in for second-degree murder.

In Rhode Island, ICE agents arrested 29-year-old Jos Esantia Gopellesgomez from Guatemala on charges related to the commercial exploitation of minors and indecent solicitation of children.

Furthermore, in Massachusetts, Victor Vasquez Cordova, a registered Salvadoran sex offender, was arrested following a conviction for possession of child sexual abuse material from March 2022.

Near Boston, they also apprehended Jose Alberto Rojop Cajas, a registered Guatemalan sex offender found guilty of indecent assault and battery against a child under 14 in June 2023.
