Things got a bit chaotic on a CNN panel Thursday night after one guest suggested that President Donald Trump had not actually been shot during a rally in Butler over a year ago.
During a discussion around White House transparency regarding Trump’s health, left-wing podcast host Toure implied that Trump hadn’t really been shot in the ear at that event in Pennsylvania last year.
This remark sent the “Newsnight” panel into a bit of an uproar.
“He was probably shot in the ear, but we’ve never heard anything from his doctor,” Toure remarked.
“Oh, um, did you really say ‘maybe’?” Scott interjected, waving his hand in surprise. “Abby, Abby!” he called out.
When Jennings sought some moderation, Toure raised his voice, insisting on his point. “When did we hear from his doctor? When did we hear from his doctor?” he pressed.
Philip, trying to mediate, said, “Wait. If I stop shouting, maybe I can respond.”
A few days after the incident where Trump appeared to be shot at the July 13 rally, a former White House doctor stated he was monitoring Trump’s health and confirmed there was “absolutely no evidence” of any bullets.
As the conversation unfolded, which included former Harris campaign spokesman Adrian Elrod and conservative commentator Ben Ferguson, Philip again attempted to regain control.
“Hold on! Just a second,” she interjected, raising her hand. “Toure, he was shot in the ear.”
Still, Toure pressed on, not feeling satisfied. “But can we hear from the doctor? When he gets shot, do we ever hear from his doctor?” he asked.
Philip turned to Jennings, who mentioned that, “All I know is I went to the Republican National Convention and he had a bandage on his ear.”
As the debate heated, Toure simply countered, “It would be ‘no.’ That will be ‘no.’
Meanwhile, Ferguson attempted to interject his points before Philip had the chance to wrap up the segment.
