Buff Bagwell Undergoes Surgery for Leg Amputation

Buff Bagwell, a well-known figure in professional wrestling, has undergone surgery to amputate his right leg above the knee, according to a post by his friend Steve Stasiak on social media. This procedure comes as a result of complications from a car accident he experienced in 2020, which left his injury unhealed, Stasiak mentioned on Facebook.

The post conveyed deep concern, stating, “I’ve known Buff for a long time and have seen him tackle challenges that are unimaginable. This is tough—for him and for those who care about him.” He added that while Bagwell fought hard to avoid this outcome, it seems they are now facing a new kind of battle.

Bagwell, 55, was celebrated as one of the standout stars during the lively era of wrestling, known for his charisma and genuine care for fans.

In the wake of his surgery, the wrestling community has been expressing their support on social media, sending thoughts and prayers to Bagwell. Throughout his career, he competed in World Championship Wrestling (WCW) from 1991 until 2001, and made appearances in WWE after its acquisition of rival promotions. He was also involved with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, among others.

Bagwell earned five WCW Tag Team Championships and was recognized in the Pro Wrestling Illustrated Top 500 Wrestlers list, ranking 66th in 1999.
