Chris Martin makes light of cameras at Coldplay concert following viral Kiss Cam incident

Coldplay’s Concert Features Cheeky Kiss Cam Moment

At a recent Coldplay concert, attendees were given a playful heads-up from Chris Martin: they might find themselves on the giant screen. This light-hearted warning came on the heels of a widely discussed incident involving Andy Byron, the CEO of an astronomy company, and his appearance on the concert’s kiss cam.

The concert took place at Camplandor Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, where Martin engaged with the crowd, stating, “We want to say hello to some of the crowd.” This sparked cheers and laughs, especially when he jokingly suggested, “So, if you’re not wearing makeup, just put on makeup now.”

Fans captured snippets from the performance, which included the couple from the earlier kiss cam fiasco making an appearance on the Jumbotron.

This concert marked Coldplay’s first performance since the kiss-cam incident at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. During that show, Byron was seen on the big screen with a woman, leading to an awkward moment when she covered her face and turned away. Martin quipped at the time, “They are either cheating or are very shy.”

Following the incident, the company acknowledged it, emphasizing their commitment to values and accountability in leadership. A formal investigation was launched, and it was later announced that Byron was placed on leave and subsequently resigned as CEO.

In a statement, the board noted, “Andy Byron submitted his resignation, and the board has accepted it.” They mentioned that a search for a new CEO would begin soon, with Pete DeJoy serving as the interim CEO.

Interestingly, real estate records revealed that Byron’s ex-wife, Kristin Cabot, finalized their divorce in 2022, yet they purchased a house together in April 2024. A TikTok user who filmed the kiss cam moment indicated that it sparked considerable chatter among concertgoers, even though many were unaware of the couple’s identities at that time.

The user expressed some regret for the unintended consequences of sharing the video but added, “I thought I found an interesting response to kiss cam.”

Overall, it’s a reminder of how a moment of fun can sometimes lead to unexpected drama. The user hopes that the couple can eventually find peace amid the chaos their moment triggered.
