Unauthorized migrant reportedly kept woman captive for several days in Texas

Hostage Situation Involving Human Trafficking Victim

Reports indicate that illegal immigrants from Honduras held a woman captive for five days, depriving her of food and water.

Jose Cacamo, a 22-year-old, was apprehended last Monday after allegedly capturing a woman while trying to flee from a human trafficking ring in Houston, Texas, as noted by local news sources.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows Cacamo forcibly taking the woman from the street while she struggles to escape.

According to court documents obtained through local reports, Cacamo confined a Chinese woman in a room of a trailer home for five days.

He’s also accused of tying her up, physically assaulting her, and sexually assaulting her during her captivity.

The authorities were alerted after a 911 call came in from a woman screaming for help, which led to the investigation into a suspected human trafficking ring.

Witnesses reported seeing the victim running down the street before she was taken.

Upon searching the trailer in East Houston, law enforcement discovered the woman hidden inside a closet.

She explained that she had traveled from New York to Texas under the pretense of a lucrative job as a masseuse, but quickly found herself in a dire situation after her captor seized her passport and moved her to the trailer.

During her captivity, the woman stated she was restrained and assaulted multiple times by Cacamo.

“She was a masseuse in New York and was offered a better-paying position here in Houston, which is how she ended up being transported,” one investigator explained.

Klafka, a source close to the case, mentioned that Cacamo was not the one who drove the woman from New York and implied that more individuals might be involved.

“This is an extremely traumatic experience. Imagine being moved from one major city to another, feeling completely alone without friends or family around,” Klafka added.

Authorities suspect that this incident is part of a larger network of human trafficking involving more victims and suspects.

Cacamo was arrested on July 14 and charged with aggravated kidnapping.

His immigration attorney stated that Cacamo maintains his innocence, expressing surprise over the serious allegations and hoping that the evidence will clear his name.

Meanwhile, the victims are reported to be safe and receiving necessary counseling and medical care at secure locations.
