Astronomer's new CEO admits to surprising advantage of Kristin Cabot and Andy Byron’s Coldplay kiss cam incident

The newly appointed CEO of the astronomer shared an unexpected update last week regarding Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot, who are involved with Coldplay’s Kiss Cam.

Pete DeJoy, who took over Byron’s responsibilities on Friday, noted that astronomers quickly gained recognition after the previous CEO and HR director made headlines.

“The recent events have attracted attention not just from startups in data and AI but also from media looking to connect,” he said in a LinkedIn post on Monday.

“The attention is a bit surreal for our team. We didn’t seek it out, yet astronomers have become known names,” DeJoy added.

He further mentioned the resilience of the astronomers, observing how they consistently face challenges and emerge strongly despite difficulties.

“Astronomers are driven by a desire to solve complex problems. Sometimes their efforts to rectify issues take time, but their commitment to doing things right is clear,” he stated.

DeJoy emphasized the trust customers place in them for ambitious data and AI projects, highlighting that their mission surpasses any single moment.

Reflecting on the recent notoriety, he noted, “We appreciate your perseverance in building something remarkable. Our gratitude goes to our community and clients for their trust.”

In his post, DeJoy acknowledged the growing prominence of astronomers. He mentioned that Byron and Cabot were seen at a Coldplay concert in Massachusetts on July 16th.

Despite being married to different partners, the two were caught in a moment together when the Kiss Cam focused on them.

Upon realizing they were on the big screen, they quickly pulled away from each other, attempting to hide their faces. Coldplay’s Chris Martin humorously remarked on their reaction, questioning whether they were being unfaithful or simply shy.

After the video gained traction online, Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, deactivated her social media account. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Christine seems to be married to Andrew Cabot, the CEO of Private Lamb.

By July 18, the company announced they were investigating the situation regarding Byron and Cabot following their unexpected vacation. DeJoy stepped in as interim CEO after Byron’s resignation, leaving uncertainties regarding Cabot’s future with the company.

Ry Walker, a co-founder and former CEO, commented on the scandal, reflecting on the unexpected nature of the developments and expressing surprise given Byron’s previously esteemed leadership.

As of now, neither Andy nor Christine, nor their respective spouses, have publicly addressed the situation.
