Father Rescues Child from Mountain Lion in Olympic National Park
A father managed to save his four-year-old child from a mountain lion attack at Olympic National Park in Washington on Sunday afternoon.
The family was hiking along a well-known trail when a collared mountain lion bit the child, as reported by the National Park Service (NPS). Eyewitnesses referred to the father as a “hero,” highlighting his quick response to protect his child during the frightening encounter. A witness named Steve Marrow, who was also on the trail when the incident occurred, remarked, “I don’t think the child would have survived without his father’s intervention. He’s definitely a hero.”
The child was later airlifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment but was released from the hospital shortly after.
The NPS started searching for the mountain lion immediately following the attack and continued their efforts on Monday. It’s important to note that mountain lions are quite rare in Olympic National Park.
