LeBron James is currently in Cannes, stirring up discussions about his future with the Lakers.
This week, he was spotted attending a party in Southern France with his wife, Savannah, and his business partner, Maverick Carter.
A video of them enjoying Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” started circulating online on Tuesday. It shows the couple dancing and singing, which was pretty enjoyable to watch.
At one point, Savannah was seen swaying to the music, a glass of white wine in one hand and a portable fan in the other, which was kind of amusing.
The footage also featured Jeff Bezos, who was busy filming his wife, Lauren Sanchez, making you wonder what kind of parties they throw.
Interestingly, the James couple recently tied the knot in Venice during a star-studded affair, so they’re likely still in celebration mode.
James’s agent, Rich Paul, has been keeping a close eye on things, advising him to “enjoy his summer,” while also thinking about his future prospects.
With James turning 41 in December, there are rumors buzzing that he might want to stay with the Lakers after Paul indicated that the 21-time All-Star might exercise a $52.6 million player option.
“LeBron wants to compete for the championship,” Paul shared with ESPN last month. He acknowledged that while the Lakers are building for the future, James values his chance to win it all, highlighting the importance of the team in his career.
James, starting his 23rd season, holds a non-trade clause in his contract, which complicates things a bit.
There’s been chatter about a potential reunion with Kyrie Irving in Dallas, but NBA insider Rachel Nichols recently reported that “the Mavericks don’t want LeBron James,” suggesting that the opportunity might be slipping away.
She seemed to suggest that, perhaps, the door might really be closed on that front.
