Tributes Emerge for Ozzy Osbourne Following His Passing

The reality TV crew that once filmed Ozzy Osbourne is grappling with the loss of the heavy metal legend, who passed away at 76.

Cameron Glendenning, a camera operator and technical supervisor who worked on “The Osbournes” from 2002 to 2005, spoke out shortly after the news broke. “I’m definitely in mourning,” he shared in a phone interview. “But I also feel grateful for that crazy time in my life. Being around someone like Ozzy was incredibly rewarding, to say the least.”

Glendenning expressed how surreal the entire experience felt. He revealed that he and his former colleagues have been in touch since Ozzy’s family announced his death on July 23. “I just reached out to Greg Johnston to offer my condolences, knowing how deeply it’s affected him,” he noted. “My friend Lucas O’Brien, who’s in Miami right now, also connected with us over some memories.”

Johnston was a producer for all four seasons of the show, while O’Brien contributed as a camera assistant throughout its run.

“Many from our crew are still friends,” Glendenning emphasized. “We’ve really formed a family over the years. It was special, authentic.” Reflecting on his time filming the series, he expressed how he values those experiences. “I tried to soak in every moment, and I feel incredibly lucky to have shared it with them. I’ve got stories for a lifetime.”

Even after nearly 15 years apart, Glendenning remarked that Ozzy hadn’t changed a bit. “He grew up from humble beginnings and remained down-to-earth throughout his life,” he reflected. “Even at the height of his fame, he never acted superior.”

He continued, “There was no air of inequality around him. I was just a kid when I started working with him, and here was a legend in front of me. He was open-minded and wanted to have fun, whether it was me or someone higher up in the industry. That was the cool part about Ozzy.”

After “The Osbournes,” Glendenning reconnected with Ozzy in 2020, working as a cinematographer for “Biography: The Nine Lives of Ozzy Osbourne.”

Sue Kolinsky, another producer from the show, mentioned that she had been on the phone throughout the day with various crew members. “Ozzy’s family announced that he passed following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease and other health complications. They confirmed he was surrounded by loved ones as they shared the heartbreaking news.

“It brings more sadness than words can express to announce that our beloved Ozzy has passed this morning,” they stated. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We request that everyone kindly respect our family’s privacy during this time,” the statement concluded.

Signed by Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife of over 40 years, as well as several of his children—Jack, Kelly, Amy, and Louis—the announcement has led to an outpouring of tributes from fans and musical peers.

As the world mourns this rock icon, Glendenning and the former crew are thinking of Ozzy’s family. “My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Sharon, Jack, Kelly, and the rest of his family,” he shared. “We all feel a loss. There really isn’t much that can help them other than showing support and reminding them of the love everyone had for Ozzy and his family.”

“This is about genuine care,” Glendenning concluded. “They truly deserve that.”
