A shocking video captures a teenager kicking a door and pretending to shoot a fake gun that appears quite realistic.
The security footage from Riverview, Florida, shows five teens sneaking around the neighborhood just after 10:30 PM on a Friday, participating in what’s being called the “Door Kick Challenge,” according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, “Two boys approached the house, and one, wearing a ski mask, kicked the front door and fired an Airsoft gun before fleeing.”
The department warned that such pranks “can end in tragedy,” and local residents echoed these concerns.
“This is Florida,” said a local resident named Amy, emphasizing that residents have the right to defend their homes and families. “We can carry weapons and protect ourselves, our property, and our pets,” she added.
“I’m serious,” she continued. “Looking back at TikTok videos and sharing them online can seem fun, but…”
“It’s only a matter of time before something goes horribly wrong for someone,” she warned.
According to reports, some locals feel that these “terrifying situations” arise from a misguided chase for online influence.
Amy recounted a time when she came home and noticed a group of boys hanging around outside. “I just left,” she said, clarifying that they showed no regard for her privacy.
The situation grew more uncomfortable, she noted, with the teens becoming increasingly aggressive towards her.
Amy stressed the importance of understanding that pranks can rapidly escalate into dangerous “life or death” situations.
“Your mom wouldn’t want to sob over a stupid prank, so really think about the consequences next time,” she advised.
