White House Issues Warning to Joy Behar
A spokesperson from the White House recently addressed Joy Behar, a co-host of “The View,” following her remarks regarding President Donald Trump. The warning suggested that her show could be at risk of cancellation.
During a recent episode, Behar and her co-hosts reacted to Trump’s claim that former President Barack Obama should face a criminal investigation related to intelligence issues tied to the Trump-Russia saga. Behar remarked, “First of all, who tried to overthrow the government on January 6th? Not Obama. He’s just envious of him because Obama isn’t.”
Sunny Hostin, another host on the show, expressed concerns that the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s program could signify a potential threat to the Constitution.
In a statement from Fox News Digital, White House spokesman Taylor Rogers suggested that if Behar continues her attacks on Trump, it could lead to her program being “pulled off the air.” He described Behar as someone suffering from “Trump Mad Syndrome,” emphasizing that last year’s viewership figures for her show fell to an all-time low.
In response, a representative for “The View” defended the show’s ratings, asserting it has been at the top of the charts for daily talk shows and news programs.
Additionally, Piers Morgan has suggested that “The View” should be cancelled in a bid to appease Trump.
This statement comes just days after CBS announced the cancellation of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” citing financial reasons, with reports indicating that the show lost approximately $40 million yearly. However, some commentators speculate that the cancellation was politically motivated due to Colbert’s anti-Trump sentiments.
According to recent reports, Colbert’s management was aware of the cancellation two weeks prior to the official announcement, which underscores the financial motivations behind this decision.
