Paige Spiranac recently confronted her critics on social media, particularly regarding her choice of attire while golfing. She’s clearly not one to shy away from the spotlight.

In a conversation with People Magazine, Spiranac reiterated her stance against those who suggest she should dress differently during her golf outings. “When I talk about it, I’m just trying to embrace who I am,” she shared. Her key message encourages others to wear what resonates with them, adding that her style is a bit more daring. “Find your own individual style,” she advised.

Once the standout golfer at San Diego State, Spiranac chose a different path, emerging as one of the most followed sports figures online instead of pursuing a professional career.

Reflecting on her journey to golf, she noted that her early experiences were rooted in gymnastics, where she wore fitted clothing. Initially, she relied on training outfits for golfing, as she couldn’t afford specialized gear.

Spiranac also mentioned a significant shift in her wardrobe choices. “I started wearing tank tops and leggings, which sparked criticism from some who felt my attire disrespected the game,” she explained. “But I like what I wear. I feel comfortable, and I want young girls to grow up without feeling anxious about their bodies or others’ opinions.”

In July 2023, she expressed frustration over what she viewed as hypocrisy in the comments section of a video. She pointed out the differing reactions men receive when showcasing their bodies compared to women. “It’s interesting how different the response online is when men choose to show off their bodies,” she remarked on social media. “I don’t get criticized in the same way as women do; it feels hypocritical.”
