Controversy Surrounds Joy Behar and White House Spokesman
Andy Cohen found himself in a bit of a situation after Taylor Rogers, a spokesman for the White House, referred to Joy Behar as an “unrelated loser.” During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Cohen mentioned, “Tonight Jack Hall has a message for Taylor Rogers, who’s been calling our friend Joy Behar an unrelated loser amidst her incredibly busy schedule.”
In a somewhat ironic twist, the cast of the administration appeared on screen during the show, which included Behar and Rosie O’Donnell, who are known for their previous critiques of the current administration.
Rogers’ remarks came after Behar expressed her views on the View regarding President Donald Trump’s feelings toward former President Barack Obama, suggesting that Trump is “very jealous” of Obama. Behar elaborated, saying, “He’s trim, smart, handsome, happily married; he can even sing the song ‘Let’s Stay Together.’ Trump can’t handle it, and it’s driving him up the wall.”
Following the show, Rogers released a statement, citing the Hollywood Reporter: “Joy Behar is an unrelated loser suffering from an acute case of what you might call Trump Mad Syndrome. It’s no surprise that View’s ratings hit an all-time low last year. Maybe she should reflect on her own envy regarding President Trump’s historical popularity before the show gets canceled.”
Interestingly, Behar and her fellow co-hosts have not been strangers to criticism from the Trump administration in recent weeks. White House spokesman Abigail Jackson previously called out Ana Navarro for her remarks about Trump’s immigration policies during a July 11 episode of View. Jackson remarked, “Whenever I think about Ana Navarro, I realize that people who care about facts and logic shouldn’t listen to what’s being spewed on television, as it’s often just wrong or, at best, questionable.”
In a side note, Trump has stirred up his long-running feud with O’Donnell once more, hinting on social media that he might pursue her U.S. citizenship, labeling her a “threat to humanity.”
Watch What Happens Live airs on Bravo from Sunday through Thursday at 10 PM, and new episodes are available to stream on Peacock the following day.
