'Progressive Christian' argues that abortion is supported by the Bible on Rogan

Texas Democrat James Tallarico recently asserted that the Bible endorses abortion, a claim met with skepticism by BlazeTV host Ally Beth Stucky.

During his notable appearance, Tallarico suggested that the pro-choice Christian viewpoint, which he describes as “respecting women’s physical autonomy,” is supported by several biblical references. He expressed that there’s considerable biblical evidence backing his beliefs.

Stucky challenged him, asking, “Can you point out the biblical evidence that supports a pro-abortion stance?”

Tallarico responded, explaining that in Genesis, God gives life by breathing into Adam, stating that life begins with the first breath. He emphasized that this perspective aligns with mainstream Jewish belief regarding the start of life.

He continued, highlighting how Jesus engaged with women during his ministry, breaking societal norms of his time. Tallarico referenced Mary, the mother of Jesus, arguing that God sought her consent before conceiving Jesus.

Stucky criticized his arguments, suggesting that they are flawed. She remarked, “So the notion that life doesn’t begin until the first breath is quite unfounded.” She comically added, “I don’t mean to laugh, but it’s a bit ridiculous.” To her, using various passages to assert that Jesus approved of abortion seems misguided.

She pointed out that God formed Adam from dust, and thus, Tallarico’s interpretation lacks validity, especially when considering the biological reality of unborn babies. She noted, “If these unborn children aren’t alive, then the necessity for abortion isn’t there.” She also stressed the harsh realities of abortion procedures, describing how they ultimately result in the death of a fetus.
