Clinic employees charged with obstructing ICE in California

Clinic Incident in Ontario, California

Federal officers reportedly arrested staff at a clinic in Ontario, California, claiming the clinic obstructed arrests by immigration enforcement. Here’s a bit of background—earlier this month, a landscape architect from Honduras, Dennis Gillen Solis, allegedly entered the Ontario Advanced Surgery Centre to avoid law enforcement, despite not being a patient there.

In a statement, it was suggested that this incident was a misrepresentation by the media, aimed at portraying federal agents negatively. The statement claimed that those arrested inside the medical center had no legitimate ties to the facility.

Officials emphasized that attacking or interfering with agents would lead to serious consequences. A warrant was executed for two clinic staff members, Jose de Jesus Ortega and Daniel Nadine Davila. Ortega was taken into custody last Friday, while Davila remains at large.

According to reports, Davila was involved in a confrontation with an immigration officer during the arrest attempt. Allegedly, he put his hand on the officer and physically blocked access to Solis. The Department of Homeland Security described how the officer approached Solis, who had fled from a vehicle in connection with enforcement actions.

In an unrelated case, anti-ICE activists have been accused of helping undocumented immigrants evade arrest in Colorado.

Witnesses reported that staff at the clinic confronted ICE agents, insisting the site was private property and demanding that they leave. One staff member was seen on video demanding, “I’ll take my hand from him,” in reference to the incident.

California Democratic representative Michelle Rodriguez expressed her discontent with ICE’s actions following the event, describing the situation as devastating for the community. She stated, “While I support law enforcement, I cannot accept such aggressive behavior. It’s unsettling and feels unjust.”
