Pelosi believes Democrats will regain control of the House, stating Trump's figures are 'awful'

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif) expressed a strong sense of optimism while speaking to Z-activists at the Voters of Tomorrow summit in 2026, asserting that the House would indeed be regained. “We’ll win the election with the House of Representatives,” she declared, receiving enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. “No doubt,” she added, reinforcing her confidence.

Pelosi also shared her belief that minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) would emerge as the House Speaker by mid-2026. While she expressed optimism about the Democratic prospects, she underscored the importance of preparation. Reflecting on past victories in 2006 and 2018, she suggested that similar strategies could lead to success in 2026. “When the troops are lined up, we’ve got a message,” she said, noting that mobilization and funding are crucial.

Adding another layer to her confidence, Pelosi mentioned the need to counter President Donald Trump’s approval ratings, which she described as “bad.” She expressed that, with collective effort, they could lower those numbers significantly by October, maybe even earlier. “By October—definitely by November—we’ll see progress,” she stated.

Polls indicate that 46% of voters currently approve of Trump’s performance, with 54% disapproving, which is notably an improvement compared to the same period eight years ago. The Voters of Tomorrow summit features notable figures like former Vice President Kamala Harris, Rep. Loco Kanna (D-Calif), and Jamie Raskin (D-Md.), alongside Pelosi, suggesting an energetic lineup aimed at mobilizing the Democratic base.
