Nick Saban responds to speculation about coaching again, stating he enjoys retirement.

Last week, there were whispers about Nick Saban, but it seems the seven-time national champion isn’t in a rush to make a comeback.

On his radio show, former Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy mentioned that Saban might have hinted at returning in the future, but McElroy wasn’t entirely convinced.

Amid the buzz, college football fans found renewed hope, but Saban appeared on “Fox & Friends” to dampen those expectations.

Saban remarked, “What’s come up in the media is amazing, and the media talks for you and thinks for you.” He even joked, “Two days ago, Miss Terry said she had to run a sweeper all over the floor, so I never thought about going back to coaching. So, while I was running a sweeper, you happened to me. So that’s the only time I thought of it.”

He went on to express his satisfaction with his current role. “I’m really happy with what I’m doing now. It’s exciting to stay connected to the game, to work with athletic directors, conference members, and create opportunities for young people to succeed.”

Though he didn’t completely shut the door on coaching again, he candidly stated, “there is no opportunity” that appeals to him at this time.

Saban reflected on his past, saying, “I did it for 50 years. I loved it. I loved relationships with players. I love competition. But you know, it’s another station in life now. It was really good to spend more time with my family, my grandchildren, and my kids.”

After losing to the national champs Michigan at the Rose Bowl in 2024, Saban decided to step away from coaching, citing shifts in college athletics.
