Nick Offerman Discusses Politics and Co-Star Dennis Quaid

Actor Nick Offerman made it clear last week that he isn’t looking to engage in a political rivalry with his “sovereignty” co-star, Dennis Quaid, instead of focusing on former President Donald Trump.

“Dennis Quaid is an incredible actor I’ve admired for years, and, well, his performance in this film is really something special,” Offerman remarked. During an “Ask Me Anything” session, he addressed his co-star alongside conversations about his new film concerning anti-government extremists and a police standoff.

Offerman noted their limited time together on set didn’t allow for deep discussions about pressing issues. “I mean, we barely had time to say, ‘Good morning, Dennis. So, how about those Epstein files?'” he added humorously.

Interestingly, Offerman acknowledged the good intentions of those who supported the current president, remarking, “Dealing with Trump supporters is a delicate matter for me because I genuinely believe many of them are good individuals.” He pointed out that a lot of people are misinformed and that engaging in rational conversations can often lead to cognitive dissonance.

While reflecting on the political landscape, he expressed some frustration. “I think we’re all mistaken about various things, but there’s a certain austerity in the Republican agenda that, well, it feels almost like fascism. This emphasis on military displays in places like L.A. doesn’t sit right with me, especially when the Democratic side is about health care and the pursuit of happiness for all,” he said.

In a rather diplomatic tone, Offerman mentioned he would prefer not to discuss politics while collaborating with Quaid. “Even if our votes differ, shaking hands with Dennis Quaid shouldn’t turn into a political debate. We’re all, after all, just trying to survive in a country where wealth is often hoarded by the ultra-rich,” he concluded.
