Threat on EasyJet Flight Linked to Trump Visit
A man reportedly threatened to bomb an EasyJet flight carrying civilians in Scotland, purportedly to “send a message to Trump.”
This incident occurred while President Trump was visiting Scotland and the UK over the weekend.
On Sunday morning, EasyJet Flight Ezy609 was about to depart from Luton Airport in England to Glasgow, Scotland, when a male passenger began making threats against the aircraft and the president.
In a viral clip shared on social media, an individual can be heard stating, “I want to send a message to Trump.”
The account of the event was supported by a local Scottish news outlet.
The man then escalated his threats, declaring, “I’m going to bomb the plane. Death to America! Death to Trump! Allahu Akbar!” This outburst was documented by onlookers.
A witness recounted that the situation intensified when the man became aggressive toward the airline staff, described as petite women, who were trying to manage the incident. “He was a big guy, about six feet tall,” the witness noted, adding, “When he pushed them, that’s when things changed.”
Other male passengers intervened, restraining the man from behind, and video footage captured him being handcuffed on the plane floor.
It was later revealed that the man was carrying a wallet indicating he was an Indian citizen with refugee status.
Passengers reported that the pilot made an emergency landing, and the plane arrived in Glasgow around 8:20 am local time.
A spokesperson for Scotland confirmed the situation, reporting, “We received a report of a man causing interference on the flight… A 41-year-old man has been arrested in connection with it, and further investigation is underway.” They also mentioned that the incident seemed contained and that counter-terrorism officers were reviewing circulating videos online.
An EasyJet representative noted that police met the flight upon its arrival in Glasgow and began removing passengers.
As passengers were being taken off the plane, one passenger was heard asking about his “phone and wallet,” followed by another saying “f**k off,” which elicited laughter from those nearby.
A witness shared that at first, he thought the suspect was joking when he emerged from the bathroom claiming, “I have a bomb.” “That’s a strange joke,” the witness commented, reflecting on the chaotic scene. He added, “He was fighting a bit on the floor, but at this point, he knew he was in trouble.”
Blaze News reached out to the White House for comments regarding the incident, but there was no immediate response. The article will be updated as necessary.
