Vance asserts that Trump is transparent in the Epstein case and states that Obama and Bush did not thoroughly investigate the serial offender.

Vance Defends Trump Regarding Epstein Case

On Monday, Vice President JD Vance stated that President Trump had “nothing to hide” concerning Jeffrey Epstein, the notorious sex offender. He also appealed to past administrations, specifically the ones during George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

“The president was very clear. We’re not protecting anything,” Vance mentioned to reporters during an event in Canton, Ohio.

Moreover, he indicated that the president has instructed the Attorney General to disclose all credible information and seek out more related to the Epstein case. “He’s quite transparent about matters like this, but some things take time,” Vance added.

Vance also pointed out the importance of safeguarding the victims’ identities, citing the ongoing federal trials related to sex trafficking charges involving Epstein, who passed away in a Manhattan prison cell on August 10, 2019.

Before his time in public office, Vance suggested a lack of government transparency regarding Epstein’s connections. “For two decades, figures like Obama and the Bush administration have made this man easy to brush aside. They didn’t fully investigate the matter,” he asserted. “There was no genuine curiosity about what happened, and now Donald J. Trump is asking his Justice Department for complete transparency.”

Vance criticized those who fail to be transparent, suggesting they should focus on the previous administrations that allegedly obscured the situation for 20 years.

In 2007, former Miami US attorney Alex Acosta struck a deal with Epstein, allowing him to plead guilty to soliciting prostitution involving minors, resulting in only a 13-month jail sentence, much of which he spent on work release. Acosta later became Trump’s Secretary of Labor but resigned in July 2019 following protests over the plea deal, mere days after Epstein’s latest arrest.

“Donald J. Trump, I’m telling you, he has nothing to hide,” Vance asserted again, emphasizing the push for transparency within his administration.

On the topic of Epstein, Trump faced scrutiny from the Justice Department and the FBI regarding a memo issued on July 6, which coincidentally marked six years since Epstein’s last arrest. This memo did not reveal a supposed “client list” linked to influential figures involved with Epstein.

Trump accused Democrats of attacking his supporters by perpetuating what he termed “Jeffrey Epstein’s hoax” and promoting unfounded claims about the case.

Recently, a federal judge in Florida denied the DOJ’s request to release transcripts from prior testimony in an Epstein investigation that occurred before the 2007 plea agreement. Meanwhile, in Tallahassee, Epstein’s associate, Ghislaine Maxwell, participated in a two-day interview with Justice Department officials.
