Group of anti-Israel protesters confront police after trying to breach Grand Central Terminal.

Protest at Grand Central Terminal

On Saturday, anti-Israel demonstrators clashed with police outside Grand Central Terminal. The chaos began around 3:30 PM when a large group of protesters attempted to breach the doors of the iconic transit hub, prompting officials to lock down and barricade the building.

This unruly crowd was part of a protest organized by Palestinian activists and had started gathering outside City Hall earlier in the afternoon. Eyewitness videos circulating on social media captured scenes of demonstrators waving Palestinian flags and chanting outside Vanderbilt Hall, with both NYPD and MTA officials present.

In a close-up video, officers can be seen dealing with the protesters, some of whom were reportedly throwing items at female officers. Others formed a barrier to keep aggressive groups from entering the terminal.

A few officers had to maneuver through the crowd, using their batons in the process. Some protesters, wildly waving flags and chanting “Free Palestine,” were eventually cleared from the main concourse by law enforcement.

While none of the arrested protesters were publicly named, two individuals were taken into custody by the NYPD and charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct, receiving summons to appear in criminal court, according to a police spokesperson. Two more protesters were detained by MTA officials, but details on their charges have not yet been released.

Throughout the situation, train services appeared unaffected, even after the tumultuous altercations. Police maintained a presence in the area for several hours afterward, ensuring the location where the confrontation took place remained secure.
