Comedian Andrew Schulz takes aim at Trump's changing stance on IVF promises.

Comedian Andrew Schultz has criticized President Donald Trump for not following through on the campaign promise to ensure universal coverage for in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments. In an Instagram story, Schultz shared a report from the Washington Post, which pointed out that while Trump pledged to mandate IVF care, the White House indicated there are currently no plans to do so.

Alongside the report, Schultz remarked, “You will not break your words. Your words will break you.” He previously interviewed Trump and voted for him, but he’s been increasingly vocal about what he sees as a disconnect between Trump’s promises and actions.

In his post, Schultz also slammed Trump for what he described as flip-flopping and encouraged his followers to look into a charity that helps with IVF costs. He mentioned, “For those looking for financial support at IVF (especially now that @RealdonaldTrump has flip-flopped again with a campaign promise), check out @BabyQuestGrants.” About a year ago, Trump promised that if he won a second term, his administration would cover the expenses associated with IVF treatments.

At a rally in Michigan last August, Trump stated, “I am making a statement today under the Trump administration that your government will be required to pay all costs related to IVF treatment or your insurance company will be required to pay.” He emphasized the intention to support families and encourage births.

In February, Trump did sign an executive order aimed at making IVF and other fertility treatments more affordable by reducing out-of-pocket costs. This order instructed the National Policy Council to explore ways to enhance access to these treatments. The White House did not respond to requests for comments about the current situation, but a spokesperson claimed that efforts to expand IVF access were ongoing.

On more than one occasion, Schultz has voiced his concerns regarding Trump’s decisions, feeling they diverge significantly from what he initially supported. He pointed out issues like rising national debt and funding for foreign conflicts, and notably expressed dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of various matters recently.
