Trump Discusses Foreign-Born Worker Decline
WASHINGTON – President Trump addressed a question from Breitbart News on Tuesday about how the drop in foreign-born workers in the labor market could benefit American workers.
This query came shortly after he signed an executive order to establish the White House Task Force for the 2028 Summer Olympics, during an event where reporters were present.
“Well, we want to prioritize American workers first and foremost,” Trump responded. “We’re also looking to assist farmers, who are producing more than ever. It’s important to support them, and we’re implementing some complex strategies.”
Emphasizing his priorities, Trump mentioned the significance of removing illegal immigrants and reinforcing border security.
“The main task I’ve taken on is to eliminate offenders from our country, particularly criminals. We’ve seen a rise in violence, with over 11,000 perpetrators entering under Biden’s open border policy, along with others who’ve never interacted with border patrols. We have individuals from various countries, including those recently released from prisons in Congo, South America, and parts of Europe,” he added.
He claimed that illegal immigration would cease to be a significant issue, noting that there were no illegal aliens detected for three months recently.
“We reported zero illegal entries for three straight months,” he stated, while also critiquing those who create immigration statistics. “It’s baffling because we have strict border enforcement, and people can come, but they must do it legally.”
“Honestly, I believe we did a remarkable job, but we absolutely must remove criminals from our nation, including murderers and drug dealers. Our prisons should not be empty, and I think that’s a big part of why I was elected, beyond just economic issues.”
In an earlier interview with CNBC’s Becky Quick, Trump mentioned that the latest employment report indicated a significant drop of 1.7 million foreign-born workers.
“This means we’re getting Americans back to work, which is a substantial figure,” he remarked.
