On Wednesday, President Trump and Vice President Vance expressed their disapproval of a recent report about a potential meeting concerning the release of audio involving Associate Attorney General Todd Blanche and Gislaine Maxwell.
When asked about a gathering that Vance was supposedly hosting related to the Epstein case, Trump seemed uncertain. CNN had reported that a meeting was scheduled that evening at the Vice President’s residence.
“I don’t know, I could ask you that question,” Trump remarked, glancing at Vance. “I’m not sure, but I think there’s a person involved here.”
Vance criticized the media for the coverage, stating, “I saw it being reported today, and it’s entirely fake news. We haven’t discussed the situation with Epstein, and I think the reporter really needs to find a better source.”
Trump added, “Look, everything’s a hoax. It’s all orchestrated by the Democrats,” characterizing the report as a distraction from other significant issues.
The Vice President’s office also denounced the report earlier in the day. William Martin, Vance’s communications director, stated, “CNN stories are pure fiction. There was no indication of a scheduled meeting to discuss the Epstein strategy at the Vice President’s residence.”
Reportedly, the meeting included White House Chief Susie Wills, Attorney General Pam Bondy, FBI Director Kash Patel, and Blanche. The FBI has yet to respond to requests for comments from Hill.
Blanche recently met with Maxwell, a close associate of the late Jeffrey Epstein, amid growing calls for the administration to release more details from the Epstein Files.
Trump also mentioned that Maxwell had not informed him about what she communicated to Blanche. Earlier this week, he claimed he was unaware of the decision to transfer Maxwell from a federal prison in Florida to one in Texas.
“I had no idea about it,” he said. “That’s not very unusual.”
The transfer comes as Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, and her legal team are challenging her conviction in the Supreme Court.
