During their brief stop, a stranger approached them asking for money. “I told him, ‘I’m sorry, but I don’t have any cash,’” she explained.

Despite her refusal, the man seemed to become increasingly persistent, prompting Sami to describe the situation as unsettling. “It felt, I guess, kind of threatening,” she noted, admitting that she felt an uneasy knot in her stomach.

As they rushed to leave, Sami noticed that almost immediately after the first man approached, another followed. “I had this awful feeling, like I should really be cautious right now,” she reflected.

When asked if he could speak Spanish, she struggled to understand his responses, leading to even more confusion. “It’s like I just didn’t get what he was saying,” she mentioned.

After the encounter escalated with the man reaching into his back pocket, Sami quickly grabbed her pepper spray. Feeling the tension, she and her friends hurried to their car and locked themselves inside.

Although they ultimately drove away safely, the entire episode left them shaken. Sami wondered if the two men were perhaps collaborating in some way. “Looking back at the photos later, it dawned on me—the guy had been watching us all along,” she remarked.

To warn her followers, she shared a photo of the man and encouraged them to stay alert to their surroundings. “I usually pay attention, but this time, I seriously didn’t see him coming,” she confessed.
