A recent article from The Daily Mail suggests that “Trump will start targeting top FBI agents from his administration,” framing it as an act of “retaliation” against recently dismissed agents. However, it omits that at least two of these agents had strong opposition to his administration.
Former agents Stephen Jensen and Walter Giardina are noted, with Giardina reportedly having gone to great lengths to prevent Trump from assuming office.
Following Trump’s appointment in January 2025, Kash Patel replaced Brian Driscoll as the acting FBI director. Jensen, now leading the Washington Field Office, played a crucial role in the investigation of the January 6th events.
As Blazetv host Sarah Gonzalez commented: “I’ve moved on. No thanks. We don’t require that anymore. We’re not fixating on political persecution.”
Giardina, a special agent, looked into Trump advisor Peter Navarro and had a key role in the Crossfire Hurricane investigation. His involvement extended to special investigations related to Mueller, including cases involving figures like Dan Scavino, Roger Stone, and Hillary Clinton.
A June press release from Senate Attorney General Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) added more concerning details.
According to the press release, Giardina allegedly claimed to be the first Steel Deja winner and expressed hostility towards Trump, giving personal motivations for investigating him.
Giardina was also accused of improperly wiping an assigned laptop related to Special Advisor Mueller, which could have destroyed government records. He allegedly advised agents to use misleading information regarding Trump’s financial dealings.
Moreover, he was a case agent on the Crimson River Case, later termed Red Masari. This information was leaked to the Washington Post about 90 days before the presidential election, seemingly to undermine Trump.
Gonzalez remarked, “They knew it wasn’t accurate but still wanted to mislead.” She expressed hope for accountability on this matter, adding, “You can’t stop here.”
