Democrats Face Choices in Upcoming Legislative Agenda

During a recent segment on Bloomberg’s “Power of Balance,” Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) emphasized that the Democratic party is aware they need to settle on a bill since they can no longer vote on the full agenda.

Co-host Joe Matthew highlighted a video featuring Rep. Beth Van Duyne (R-TX), who referenced the support given to Americans two years prior. She articulated that her Democratic colleague had claimed they would work to fund certain initiatives but suggested that their efforts over the last two years were more about empty promises.

Matthew responded, questioning the effectiveness of such rhetoric and sought Wasserman Schultz’s perspective on it.

She remarked, “Joe, that’s a roundabout way of stating that they can’t win elections based on their own agenda. They attempt to frame their districts with partisan bias and understand that they must allow voters to have a say. Additionally, they’re aware that the construction of Congressional districts needs to be strategically managed. With the census leading to new district boundaries, it’s anticipated that more Republicans and conservatives will be elected in Florida next November.”
