MSNBC’s Ali Velshi Asks Jen Psaki About Trump Administration Fear

During Friday’s show, MSNBC host Ali Velshi posed a question to Jen Psaki, wondering if she felt any fear regarding President Donald Trump and his administration. He noted that as a journalist, he’s often asked if he’s worried about the current administration, and wondered if her perspective was similar given her previous role in the White House.

Before hosting her current show on MSNBC, Psaki served as a spokesperson for President Joe Biden. Velshi, addressing Psaki directly, reflected on how people’s concern about safety, especially regarding their families, can impact their views.

Psaki responded by saying that she tries not to live in fear, admitting that her primary concern would be the safety of her children and home. “We all feel it in some way,” she said. She continued by expressing gratitude for the freedom to share thoughts openly, emphasizing that it’s quite a privilege.

Velshi agreed, underscoring the importance of having a voice in society. “If there is a voice in this society, we must use it,” he stated, highlighting the need for expression, even amidst concerns about the current political climate.

In a related note, political commentators have suggested that the recent cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show could be linked to political motivations following a settlement with the Trump administration. Psaki, known for her critical remarks about Trump on her show, has found herself receiving more airtime recently as MSNBC reshapes its programming, including the termination of Joy Reid’s show.
