Rapper Maluma recently addressed a concerning situation during a concert in Mexico City. A mother brought her young child, who was only around one year old, to a crowd of 26,000 without any ear protection.
While performing, Maluma spotted the baby in the audience and paused to ask the child’s age. Once he learned it was quite young, he expressed his disapproval.
“Is it really a good idea to bring an infant to a concert where the noise is so loud?” he questioned, making it clear he found the situation alarming. “That baby doesn’t even know what’s happening here.”
Maluma, who has a daughter himself, emphasized that as a parent, he would never put his child in such a position. “It feels like you’re treating them like a toy,” he said, urging the mother to think about the baby’s well-being.
The crowd seemed to support Maluma’s sentiments, but not everyone felt the same way. Critics on social media were quick to share their thoughts, arguing that the incident publicly shamed the mother.
One commenter noted that all parents have their own ways of managing their children. “Why put the child in front of so many people?” they questioned on TikTok.
Another voice added that even if Maluma was right, it wasn’t appropriate to embarrass someone publicly. “You can be correct, but doing it in front of thousands isn’t right,” they pointed out.
Despite the backlash, many fans backed Maluma’s concerns regarding bringing a baby to a concert. Some agreed wholeheartedly, commenting on the importance of considering the child’s safety.
As Maluma embarks on his ongoing +Pretty +Dirty World Tour across Latin America, the U.S., and Europe, he reflects on how becoming a father has shifted his perspective, noting, “Everything changes when you have a child.”
In a recent interview, he shared his newfound motivation as a parent, saying, “Now I wake up eager to take on the world.” He mentioned the desire to lead by example and be healthy for his daughter Paris.
