Body of pregnant Ohio woman discovered in plastic bin, resulting in the arrest of two men

Two individuals were taken into custody following the discovery of a pregnant woman’s remains in a plastic container by a rural road in Ohio.

On August 7, hikers on Fort Anthony Road in Jackson Township stumbled upon the body of 28-year-old Brittany Foolstorm. Reports suggest that they had a harrowing experience.

One hiker who contacted emergency services shared, “I really didn’t want to check it out. The odor was overpowering. I mean, there’s a difference between the usual smell of death and whatever this was.”

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has initiated a thorough investigation, revealing through an autopsy that Foolstorm was pregnant at the time of her death.

This prompted authorities to trace her last known location in Middletown, where she was seen with two men.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant at their residence, leading to the arrest of James Rosabusch.

Inside the apartment, officers found blood stains, blue tarps, screws, and towels—items that matched the description related to the crime.

Rosabusch, 52, claimed that Foolstorm died under suspicious circumstances at his place and that he left her body there for a week before moving it outside.

Jeremy Roy, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Director, spoke briefly about the case.

Investigators also seized drugs and related paraphernalia from the apartment.

Following Rosabusch’s apprehension, authorities identified a second suspect, Ricky J. Sheppard, 47, from Middletown.

Sheppard claimed he attempted to flee but was quickly caught, as reported by deputies.

He alleged that Foolstorm died from an overdose and that her body was abandoned about a week later.

Deputy Director Ryan Morgan noted, “He later stated the deceased died from a drug overdose and that she remained at his home for about a week.”

Both men indicated to law enforcement that they were aware Foolstorm was pregnant.

The coroner’s office has yet to establish the cause and manner of death.

Both suspects face serious charges related to abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.

In addition to the previous charges, Rosabusch is also looking at counts of drug corruption, trafficking, possession of drug equipment, and failure to report a death or crime.

Roy commended local law enforcement for their efforts in the case.

“Upon learning that a mother was discarded like this, I had to act immediately. It was clear that the community needed support,” he stated.

“You don’t always see that kind of cooperation in the U.S., and especially in Ohio, but in this instance, I think it’s worth acknowledging.”

Meanwhile, the community expressed shock over the incident.

“I had no idea anything like this was happening,” said local resident Cody Lewis.
