Cartel Murder Spot Found Again in Mexico Close to Texas Border

Discovery of a Murder and Incineration Site Linked to the Gulf Cartel

A group of activists focused on uncovering the locations of missing persons linked to cartel activity has announced the finding of a murder site and incineration area reportedly being used again by the Gulf Cartel. This site is located close to the Texas border and international entry points, and it was initially discovered in 2024 before it was reactivated by cartel members.

The activists, part of the Amor Pol Desaparecidos group, made the discovery on Sunday at an abandoned warehouse situated just west of Reynosa in Tamaulipas, near the Anzuruas International Bridge. Upon inspection, they found human remains, clothing, and signs on the walls that suggested the location had been used for disposing of victims.

Local news sources indicate that some of these killing sites had first come to light in 2024, but they were quickly repurposed by the Gulf Cartel as soon as investigators completed their documentation. Allegations have surfaced that authorities failed to collect all remains during a prior investigation and vacated the area after documenting it. New evidence points to the Gulf Cartel resuming its activities shortly after the authorities left, utilizing the site for nearly a year.

It’s believed that members of the Metro faction of the Gulf Cartel operated this site for killing and incinerating victims. In recent times, the Amor Por Los Desaparecidos group and other organizations have uncovered a number of clandestine cemeteries in the Reynosa area, casting doubt on the narrative put forth by Mexican officials regarding the safety of Tamaulipas.
