Kash Patel and Chuck Grassley reveal the Russia hoax through new documents

Trump’s 2016 Victory and the Political Fallout

Donald Trump’s win in the 2016 presidential election was, well, shocking—not just to many Americans but globally as well. It especially hit the Democrats hard. They found it nearly impossible to come to terms with the fact that their chosen candidate, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, lost to Trump.

Interestingly, Democrats appeared to have adopted elements of Trump’s policies while simultaneously trying to undermine him. Two individuals, in particular, have been relentless in their efforts to unveil the political deception that unfolded during this period. They are still very much involved in the ongoing conversation surrounding these issues.

Political Fraud Unraveled

Jonathan Turley has suggested that the Democrats executed a political fraud of unprecedented scale, and it’s finally starting to come to light. Throughout the campaign, there were attempts to tie Trump to Russian President Vladimir Putin, asserting that Russia wanted Trump in the White House. They even accused Trump of collusion regarding the infamous hacking of Clinton’s emails published by WikiLeaks. This narrative spun out over the course of his first term and led to the high-profile investigation by Robert Mueller, which affected the lives of numerous Trump associates. It’s notable that two primary figures opposing this narrative have been FBI Director Kash Patel and Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa.

Patel’s skepticism about the government’s narrative might have originated from his earlier role as a defense attorney, during which he engaged with allegations involving Trump’s campaign aide Carter Page and others. While serving as an aide to Devin Nunes, who chaired the House Intelligence Committee, he drafted a memo examining the origins of the so-called Steele dossier. This document, created by former British spy Christopher Steele—who held a strong bias against Trump—promoted outlandish theories about Trump colluding with Russia, riddled with bizarre assertions.

This dubious dossier had long-lasting repercussions, resulting in accusations of treason against several Trump officials. Moreover, it turned out that Clinton’s campaign was financing Steele’s work through legal fees; they misled the Federal Election Commission regarding the true nature of these expenses. FISA warrants obtained against Page and other Trump officials were based on misleading information, as the judges weren’t aware of Steele’s anti-Trump bias or Clinton’s role in commissioning the dossier. Patel’s notes exposed much of this scandal, though he became a target from Democrats and left-leaning media.

Interestingly, following Patel’s memo, Attorney General William Barr appointed John Durham as special counsel to probe the origins of the Steele dossier. Though Durham’s report validated Patel’s stance, actions from the Biden administration were minimal. For instance, an FBI attorney, Kevin Clinesmith, falsified an email to support warrant applications but got off with probation after pleading guilty—no jail time for such serious misconduct. Senate testimonies revealed that several former officials, including James Comey, suggested that if Patel had known the actual context, he wouldn’t have pursued a FISA warrant.

A recent discovery by Patel indicated that important documents related to the Russian hoax were found in a burn bag at the FBI headquarters. Grassley has been a consistent advocate alongside Patel, yet he often stood alone in his outcry against the supposed collusion narrative. Last week, amid ongoing revelations, Grassley shared the so-called Durham Annex, revealing that Clinton’s campaign was plotting accusations against Trump involving Russia as early as February 2016. A New York Times article suggested that emails from Clinton’s campaign and connections to George Soros were not legitimate but rather part of a disinformation campaign, which contradicts the CIA’s position that those emails were credible.

Newly released documents from National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard indicated President Obama’s involvement in this controversy, while intelligence officials discredited the idea that Russia favored Trump. Nonetheless, Obama and former CIA Director John Brennan attempted to fabricate intelligence to support such claims. Importantly, by 2017, even the FBI had concluded that there was no evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia, underscoring the urgency for accountability here. The FEC fined Clinton’s campaign, but that hardly serves as justice for the far-reaching impacts this scandal had on numerous lives and the political landscape.

As the story continues to unfold, particularly into the lead-up to the 2024 election, some may view the actions of special counsel Jack Smith and local prosecutors like Alvin Bragg and Fani Willis as an ongoing attempt to undermine Trump. Allegations targeting Trump, especially surrounding the raid at Mar-a-Lago, hint at desperate measures to block his potential candidacy. These legal maneuvers appear aimed at draining Trump’s resources and preventing him from contesting the upcoming election successfully.

There remains hope, however, that the truth will prevail. Individuals like Patel and Grassley have shown unwavering dedication to uncovering the full reality of these events. They’ve faced harsh criticism, labeled as conspiracy theorists by their detractors. Yet their sacrifices to reveal the true nature of this scandal point to a commitment to transparency.

Ultimately, as more documents emerge and await declassification, efforts to silence the truth seem futile. The light is breaking through, revealing the extent of the orchestrated attacks against Trump, whose civil rights were clearly violated. In due course, accountability will be demanded, particularly from those who were part of this conspiracy. When justice is finally served, recognition for Patel and Grassley should follow, contrasting sharply with the undeserved accolades received by those who perpetuated these hoaxes.
