Lauren Sanchez Bezos is stepping into a new era of motherhood as she sends her son off to college. The wife of Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos, shared a touching moment on Instagram about the experience of moving her son into his dorm.
“I dropped Evan off at university today. It feels like just yesterday we were having late-night snacks and family dinners,” Sanchez Bezos reflected, noting the significance of the day. She described the moment as small but meaningful, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his life.
Last week, a proud Sanchez Bezos engaged with other mothers on social media, resonating with their shared feelings about their children growing up. Expressing her sentiments, she said, “I shout out to every mom who’s feeling the emotional shift — one minute it’s kindergarten, and now it’s college! I’m shedding tears!”
She also posted a photo of a packed blue bag that seemed full of college essentials, noting how emotional the goodbye was for her family.
Back in December 2024, Sanchez Bezos celebrated her son Evan’s acceptance to the University of Miami and shared snippets of this milestone on her Instagram story, boasting about his journey to Herbert Business School.
“My heart is bursting,” she exclaimed then. “I’m so proud of you.” This emotional post comes after her recent marriage to Jeff Bezos in a beautiful ceremony in Venice.
Lauren Sanchez has three children from her previous marriages: Nicco Gonzalez, Evan Whitesell, and Eleanor Whitesell. She welcomed Nicco with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez in 2001 and then married Patrick Whitesell in 2005, with whom she had Evan and Eleanor.
After 13 years together, Sanchez and Whitesell filed for divorce in 2019, which coincided with Bezos’s separation from his ex-wife, Mackenzie Scott, after 25 years of marriage. They have four children together.
