Vice President JD Vance Discusses Family Time and Daily Routine

Vice President JD Vance shared on Monday that he dedicates several hours each day to his family, emphasizing the importance of these moments. “What I’m trying to do, and perhaps this is advice for anyone juggling family and work, is to make that time sacred,” he remarked. He acknowledged that sometimes, even essential family time might have to be adjusted due to pressing commitments, but he believes it’s crucial to connect with family daily.

Vance was discussing his routine in an interview with Katie Miller, who hosts The Katie Miller Podcast. Interestingly, Miller is married to Stephen Miller, a deputy chief of staff at the White House.

During the conversation, Vance mentioned he often returns to the White House after putting his child to bed. He described his evenings: “We usually have dinner and hang out with the kids around 6:00-8:00. Then it’s quite hectic from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. Some nights, it’s a bit calmer and I wrap up by 10, but other nights can stretch till 2 a.m.”

Cooking breakfast is something Vance enjoys and tries to do as much as he can. He explained that, despite his high-profile position, he aims to maintain small rituals that keep him connected to his role as a father.

Miller’s podcast is just starting out, and she has exciting guests lined up, including boxing legend Mike Tyson.

Vance expressed that maintaining family connections is vital, especially because his vice-presidential role places him in a unique situation. “Living in a bubble can be isolating. I cherish these moments that remind my kids I’m still their dad,” he concluded. This perspective, perhaps, resonates with many who balance work and family life.
